Eastern Catholic Churches with no Orthodox counterpart
The Maronite Catholic Church, and
The Italo-Albanian Catholic Church.
These are two Eastern Catholic churches which, because of unique historical circumstances, do not have an immediate counterpart among the other eastern churches.
While the Maronites adhere to the West Syriac liturgical Rite, the Italo-Albanians adhere to the Byzantine liturgical, spiritual and theological traditions of Eastern Orthodoxy.
